Terms & conditions
The terms for using the Salma Kiran website and buying jewellery online, written to preserve mandatory consumer rights.
About these terms
These terms govern use of the Salma Kiran website and purchases made through it. Before public production launch, the legal seller name, geographic address and customer-service contact details required for the contracting entity will be inserted here. We do not invent those details during UAT.
Using the website
You may use the website for lawful personal shopping and information. You must not interfere with the site's operation, attempt unauthorised access, misuse checkout or payment functions, introduce malicious code, scrape the service in a way that harms its operation, or use Salma Kiran intellectual property without permission or another lawful basis.
Products, photographs and descriptions
We aim to present jewellery accurately. Screen settings, lighting and photography can affect how colours and finishes appear. Natural or handmade-style details may also vary where relevant to a product. The product page and selected variant form part of the information used for your order. If a material, dimension or other specification is important to you, review the product information before ordering and contact us where clarification is needed.
Prices and currencies
Prices shown on the website are the prices presented for the selected market or currency at that time, subject to correction of obvious errors. Delivery charges, taxes, duties or other destination charges are shown or explained separately where applicable. Currency conversion and card-provider charges can depend on your payment provider.
Availability and stock
Products are subject to availability. Adding an item to a bag does not by itself guarantee supply. Our commerce system may reserve stock during checkout for a limited period. If an item becomes unavailable before an order is accepted or paid, we may be unable to supply it.
Placing an order and contract formation
Submitting checkout information is an offer to purchase. An automated acknowledgement confirms that we have received information; it does not necessarily mean an order has been finally accepted. Acceptance occurs when the order has been successfully paid and accepted for fulfilment, subject to any mandatory consumer-law rule that applies. We may reject or cancel an order before fulfilment where payment is not authorised, stock is unavailable, there is an obvious pricing or description error, we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse, or we cannot lawfully supply the order.
Payment
Payments are processed through the payment services offered at checkout. You must be authorised to use the selected payment method. We may use payment status and provider references to verify that an order is paid before fulfilment. Payment-provider terms may also apply to your use of their services.
Order confirmation
After successful payment, we aim to send an order confirmation to the email address supplied. Please check the order details and contact us promptly if something appears incorrect. Keep your confirmation and order reference.
Delivery
Available delivery services, charges and destination information are presented at checkout or in our Delivery, Returns & Refunds Policy. For UK distance sales, unless a different period is agreed, goods will be delivered within the period required by applicable consumer law. Risk and title are governed by applicable law and the circumstances of delivery; nothing in these terms reduces mandatory consumer protection.
International orders
International orders can be subject to import duties, taxes, customs procedures, brokerage charges and local restrictions. Unless checkout expressly says otherwise, destination-country charges are the customer's responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring that goods may lawfully be imported into the destination.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Our Delivery, Returns & Refunds Policy forms part of these terms. UK consumers generally have statutory cancellation rights for eligible distance purchases. Pierced earrings and other hygiene-sensitive goods can be subject to a change-of-mind return exclusion once hygiene protection has been opened, broken or removed, but this does not remove mandatory rights for faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
If goods do not meet rights that applicable consumer law gives you, contact us promptly. UK statutory rights concerning satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and correspondence with description are separate from any voluntary or change-of-mind returns policy. We do not use these terms to exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Promotions and discount codes
Promotions may have separate eligibility, timing, product and usage conditions. Unless stated otherwise, promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash and may be limited to one use or one offer per order. We may withdraw a promotion prospectively or refuse misuse, subject to orders already lawfully accepted.
Intellectual property
The Salma Kiran name, logos, site design, original photography, copy and other brand material are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Purchasing a product does not transfer ownership of those rights.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable consequences of a breach, or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase, to the extent the law permits.
Events outside reasonable control
Delivery or performance can be affected by events outside reasonable control, including carrier disruption, customs delays, severe weather, infrastructure outages or governmental action. We will take reasonable steps to communicate material effects and comply with any rights you have under applicable law.
Governing law and consumer rights
These terms are intended to operate consistently with mandatory consumer rights. The final governing-law and jurisdiction clause will be aligned with the legal seller's confirmed establishment before production launch. If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction, mandatory protections of your home jurisdiction may continue to apply where the law requires.
Privacy
How we use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Marketing signup is optional and is not a condition of purchasing jewellery.
